You can drive but not walk through this Volcano! Nov 30

Christmas seemed to be a good time to book a holiday for the family, and take them all to St Lucia for a week. St Lucia was so great last year, that i have just now booked another one, so hopefully we will have just as much fun as we did last year. If i hadn’t had so much to do when i came back from my holiday, i would have written about this sooner. So seeing as I am booking a holiday back to St Lucia, and i have some free time, I thought I would explain my last holiday there to you.

We landed at an airport called the Hewanorra airport, a very modern and classy airport. We were staying at the Le Sport hotel and the rooms were gorgeous. St Lucia has a lovely forest that covers most of the island, and we went on two safaris through the jungle, other than that we spent a lot of our time at the beach.

Now although I knew that there was a Volcano on the island, I had never really thought that we could go and see it. Now I have seen a volcano before, in Greece, but never one like this. The St Lucia Sulphur Springs is the only Drive in Volcano in the world. This Volcano is Dormant, and produces a very strong smell of sulphur; apparently if the smell disappears then the Volcano is getting ready to erupt!

In a Volcano you know it is hot, but when you see land and soil boiling in the earth, it makes you realise. After a tour guide fell into one of these boiling puddles, walking through the Volcano was called off and people were no longer allowed to go through on foot. So now you may only drive through it on the designated path. There were some truly amazing colours layered all the way around the Volcano, and the smell of Sulphur was extremely strong. I would recommend visiting this if you ever get the chance. So I am definitely going back there to visit the Volcano again.

For St Lucia holidays, Barbados holidays and Christmas holidays, you should consider contacting a tour operator immediately.
