Exercise isn’t always fun. Who has the space to move freely? Who has the peace to hear themselves think? Where is that place to run, to take a walk, or get your hands dirty? The gym isn’t a motivational place for everyone. Walking a mile through the woods or plains is a different experience from walking on a treadmill for a mile. A body can respond better to having a purpose. Human beings were hunters and gatherers for so long, the short switch into modern society these last few centuries hasn’t translated into our DNA yet. In other words, our bodies still want to move, and jump and be useful. And while you think you’re giving your mind a workout by making baskets with your hands or learning how to ride a horse, your body feels useful again. The symmetry between body and mind is restored when both get to be used. When both are stimulated, a person is healthy and happy.
But people don’t always know where to look. Yet they are everywhere if you just open your eyes. Montana dude ranches for example, are famous for their exciting times. A ranch is a place that can excite people of all ages, and make a person want to live a healthier life.
